Get to know Elsie

Elsie found her way to yoga through a personal need to come home to herself. Stepping away from life's noise and the weight of her own expectations, she discovered in asana a quiet thread back to who she truly was.

From her 200 Hour Teacher Training at Gertrude Street Yoga, that thread continued into breathwork and meditation, before expanding into a more holistic, psychosomatic-based practice through her work with Collective Being and Yoga For Humankind. With over 500 hours of training across Yin, Somatics, Trauma-Informed Practice and Pranayama, Elsie has continued to deepen her understanding of what it means to truly inhabit a body.

At the root of Elsie's practice and facilitation is a deep awe of the human experience and reverence for the body’s intelligence and capacity to meet life in all its many forms. She explores this through somatics, asana, TCM and breathwork as technologies to ground and connect you to your body, community and the more-than-human world.

Elsie has held spaces across public studios, community and public health settings, and individual practice; having supported clients through the full range of what life brings. With a focus on choice-making and attunement, and an unwavering belief that you are your own best teacher, she guides with the intention to bring you closer to your own beautifully unique and ever-changing experience.

Who I am, not what I do.

Chances are if you’ve come this far you probably already have an idea of what I do, but you may still be questioning who I am... our time together in the can also be strange like that. It’s important to me to keep our sessions focused on what is happening for you and your body. That can leave some people wondering about me.
