Get to know Courtney.
Courtney found her way to Chinese Medicine through personal experience as a patient in her late teens. After benefiting from acupuncture treatment herself, Courtney developed a rapport with her practitioner to whom she became a personal assistant and was trained to provide cupping and gua sha.
Soon after, she enrolled in a Bachelor of Health Science/Applied Science: Chinese Medicine at RMIT and never looked back. Alongside her Chinese Medicine studies, Courtney also completed a Diploma in Remedial Massage at MIMT. Her studies came to a close after a 6 month internship in Nanjing, China. She has since completed further training in cosmetic acupuncture, nerve entrapment syndromes, Classical Chinese herbalism and more recently, Japanese style acupuncture with Kiiko Matsumoto.
These combined skills have given her extensive experience supporting people with chronic pain, including persistent headaches, migraines and jaw tension. Across seven years at Quiescence Chinese Medicine in Fitzroy North, focusing on women’s health, she has developed a particular interest in chronic fatigue, endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, PMDD and conditions throughout pregnancy.
Courtney centres professional integrity in her practice through ethical care, informed consent and clear communication. She approaches people with curiosity and compassion, supporting body literacy and recognising the natural ebb and flow of wellbeing.
Who I am, not what I do.
Chances are if you’ve come this far you probably already have an idea of what I do, but you may still be questioning who I am... our time together in the clinic can also be strange like that. It’s important to me to keep our sessions focused on what is happening for you and your body. That can leave some people wondering about me.
